Larry Langley Obituary

Larry Wayne Langley SMITHFIELD, VA - Larry Wayne Langley, 67, of Smithfield, Virginia, husband of Barbara L. Langley, entered into eternal rest suddenly on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his son's residence in St. George, SC. Larry was born on May 11, 1947, in Rocky Mount, NC, a son of the late Otha Gene and Ida Mae Parker Langley. He was a graduate of Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School and was a retired production engineer with 42 years of service at Newport News Shipbuilding. He was a member of the St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Newport News, Virginia. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Liakos Langley, Smithfield, VA; a son, Alton (Tracey) Langley, St. George and a brother, Otha Gene Langley, Rocky Mount, NC. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 1515 S Church Street, Smithfield, Virginia. Graveside service will follow at 12 noon in the St. Luke's Cemetery, Smithfield. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Visit our guestbook at www.legacy.com/obituaries/ charleston

Larry Langley was a great friend to me at Cooper High School. I just heard today that he passed away. My prayers ate with him and his family. Garland Skinner who passed away February 12, 2013 was my cousin. Garland and Larry were super close friends in school. All my class members hold a special place in my heart.
