Larry Hargrove Obituary

Dear Deb, I have just learned of Larry's death. I know that the pain that you and your family are feeling is unbearable. I pray that God will give you the strength to endure this most difficult time. While I did not really know your Larry, I was able to see how very much you adored one another when both you attended functions through Newington Elementary. How blessed you both were to have found one another. You were true soul mates.
We moved to Georgia almost two years ago so I cannot come to see you but I do want you to know that my thoughts and my prayers are with you. Carolyn Daniel

I knew Larry in shipyard days and since on occasion through JIYC and Clemson games. We carpooled together and had many great conversations while sitting in traffic. Larry was a Citadel classmate of mine and a true gentleman. I enjoyed visiting with him at our 50th reunion and was so saddened to learn of his death. Please convey my condolences to his wife and family during this most unexpected and tragic event. Always remember that death itself is the gateway to eternal life.

Larry was one of the really great guys and it was such a pleasure to see and talk with him at our 50th class reunion. His love of The Citadel is an inspiration and he will be missed by all of us. My prayers and condolences to the family and all who loved him.

Deb, Skip and I are so saddened by the death of Larry. Losing the one who loved you unconditionally, the one who was your greatest fan, the one who could make you feel safe, is a powerful and painful loss. The only help is the knowledge he is making Heaven an even sweeter place and is now receiving joy far beyond our understanding. My deepest condolences to the family. I met Larry when I joined LCE in 2004. He was an absolute anchor of professionalism and counsel for me for the next nine years. He was the most impressive LCE employee I have ever had the pleasure of working with; he was always available. I admired him greatly and will certainly never forget him.

Kendall and I both worked with Larry at LCE. He was always charming and a delight to be around. He will certainly be missed by all. Many blessings to Deb and family at this time.

As we go through life, we come across individuals that leave an indelible mark on you. Larry was one of those people. I worked with Larry at LCE and I made it a point to sit with him and chat every time I returned to Charleston. His genuine warmth and care made it a special visit. He will no doubt be greatly missed but we have the memories and stories to tell for years to come.

Knowing Larry for only a short time but the memory will last a very long time.
What a gentlemen.... he will be deeply missed.
