Larry Bailey Obituary

Larry Bailey SUMMERVILLE - Larry Bailey entered into eternal peace on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at White Oak Manor in North Charleston, South Carolina. Larry was the son of Eugene O. Bailey and Rebecca Maxcey Bailey. He was born in Charleston on April 6, 1940. Larry was married to Martha Marvin Bailey for 58 years. He graduated from Rivers High School in Charleston, SC, where he played football. He attended the University of South Carolina. Larry was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Larry worked for the US Postal Service and in multiple fields of construction. He was a teacher at Trident Technical School and in Dorchester District Two. He was also an AVID fan of the Carolina Gamecocks. Surviving is his wife, son, William E. Bailey (Katherine), daughters, Tara DeLonge (Steve) and Sara Ginn (John), brothers Tommy Bailey (Betty), Jimmy Bailey (Gail), Donald Bailey (Caroline) and Steve Bailey (Jenks). Also surviving him are 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two great-grandchildren on the way. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Annie Bailey, and grandson, Rickey Cox. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Bethany United Methodist Church at 12:00. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held in the fellowship hall at 11:00. Bethany is located at 118 West 3rd South Street, Summerville, SC. Flowers will be accepted at Bethany. Donations will also be accepted in lieu of flowers to Richard A B.
