Lamont Chaplin Obituary

So many of my memories of summertime include Mr. Lamont and the Chaplin family - I think of y'all often.

I met Lamont after moving to Charleston for BellSouth in 1977. He was a pleasure to work with and made me feel at home in a new location. My prayers are with the family.

My sister, Carolyn, was married to Lamont's brother Bill so I really only knew him as a very special and kind young man with whom I shared lots of good times at Chaplin's Landing. My sympathies go out to his family with the hope that you will have some very wonderful memories to get you through these hard times.

May the Lord Jesus be with the entire Chaplin family. I was surprised about Lamonts passing. He was a kind person and I know he will be surely missed, but when the Lord calls you home we must go. My thoughts and prayers are with all, family and friends. Stay strong.

Lamont was a friend from school and church and enjoyed playing sports together in highschool. Remember all the great times at Chaplin Landing . My sympathy to your family . Joe Goodman

I remember Lamont as a great athlete and very nice person. My sympathies to his famiy for your loss. He is at peace and we praise God for this!

To all of Lamont's family, we want you to know how important lamont was to Lowry most of his life and and to mine when I married lowry. We had the most beautiful wedding because of Lamont, even with all of his fussing, he made it very special and was a dear and precious friend to us both as all of his family are. Lamont was one of my late father's (Keith) best friends and he always treated us like family. His visits and chats and many laughs at our camp, his fishing/shrimping tips, how to read the tide, sharing from his garden, and his accommodating of our annual 4th of July family reunion has been a part of our family lore since 1982. To Darryl, Marcia, and the rest of his family, we are deeply saddened by your loss. The Vorhis Family.

Daryl, am so sorry about about your dad. I didn't know real him real well but he was always good to me. Try to be as tough as he was and as kind.

Lamont and I were in high school together, though he was a couple of years ahead of me. Always nice and polite. Prayers to his family in his passing.
