L. Phillips Obituary

PHILLIPS, L. Leo Lessie Leo Phillips, 78, of Moncks Corner, SC, a former coal yard foreman for Santee Cooper, died Thursday in a Moncks Corner hospital. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, February 19, 2005, in the Santee Circle Community Church. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, Moncks Corner, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. this Friday evening. Mr. Phillips was born June 5, 1926 in Conway, SC, a son of Les B. Phillips and Beulah Carte Phillips. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and a member of the Santee Circle Community Church. He was a former policeman for the town of Darlington and a graduate of Florence High School. Mr. Phillips is the widower of Maggie Williams Phillips. Surviving are a daughter of Rose Marie Hatcher of Wilmington; four sons, Ralph Phillips of Summerville, Danny Phillips of Columbia, C. Fulton Walter of Florence, and Earl G.
