Kimberly Kane Obituary

Kimberly J. Kane HANAHAN - Kimberly J. Kane, 49, of Hanahan, SC, went home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2012 after a determined and admirable fight against cancer. Kim was born in Santa Monica, California on March 4, 1963 and was raised in Sandusky, Ohio. She has lived in South Carolina for the past 7 years with her loving husband John. Kim and John were married on August 29, 1992 and resided in the Sandusky area until moving to South Carolina in 2006, where she often helped out in the office of their family owned business, Charleston Collision. Kimmy or "Jack's" greatest love was spending time with family and friends, and "fussing" (loving) over Kelly, her only child. Some of her fondest memories were the good times spent with friends on "A" Dock, family holidays on Pearl St., camping and weekends on the land. She is greatly admired for her persevering character and forever loved for her selfless and compassionate heart. Kim is survived by her husband John P. Kane, daughter Kelly J. McCormick, mother Sharon L. Canterbury, step-father, James L. Canterbury, three brothers Thomas (Liz) , Bradley (Sherry), and Jeffery (Bonnie) Pean, step-brothers James and Andrew Canterbury, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and special cousin and friend Rene Swander and Tanya "Noel" Wechter. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00 PM, with a Memorial Service to begin at 6:00 PM, on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Additional memorial services will be held at Milan Friends Church, in Milan, OH, November 3, at 11:00 a.m. Kim's guestbook may be signed online at www,jamesamcalister.com. Arrangements by JAMES A. MCALISTER Funerals & Cremation. 766-1365. Visit our guestbook at www.legacy.com/obituaries/ charleston
