Kevin Moore Obituary

Kevin Charles Moore ST. MARYS, GA - Kevin Charles Moore, 59, of St. Marys, Georgia, passed peacefully into eternal rest on January 3, 2018 in his home. Kevin was the son of the late John Pease Moore and Mary Loretta Dodds Moore. Kevin was the husband of Emily S. Moore and father to daughters, Amy Marie Moore and Taylor Moore Wade. Kevin was a recently retired GS15 for the Department of Defense and was always "dedicated to the Fleet". His work in Civil Service took him around the world. Kevin loved to live life to the fullest. He always made sure he was surrounded by his family and friends. Kevin was an avid boater, spending most of his time out on the water. He loved college football. His two favorite teams were the Clemson Tigers and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Kevin always loved to make people laugh and smile by telling jokes and stories in his very distinctive drawl. In fact, his stories, jokes, and drawl are how most people will remember him. Kevin always was looking out for others and would help in anyway he could. He was a great husband, father, brother, and friend. Kevin made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was truly a beautiful soul. Kevin is survived by his wife, Emily, and their daughters, Amy Moore and Taylor and her husband, Zeke Wade, his eight brothers, sisters, and their spouses: Nancy and Steve Hesler, Patty and Danny Smith, John Moore, David and Pam Moore, Janet Moore, Marcia and David Saari, Jimmy and Mary Moore, Molly and Mark Lanning, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at Christ Our King in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina at 3 pm. A "Celebration of Life" will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Our King - Stella Maris School, 1183 Russell Drive, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, 29464. Janet and Moore family. I am so sorry to hear of Kevin's passing. He was, as the rest of the Moore Clan are, a good person. He was the one who found a lawyer for me after I has hit by a drunk driver, after leaving his sister Janet's house. Made it so much easier for me. He will surely light up Heaven upon his arrival. Please accept my condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm shocked to hear of Kevin's passing...my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Moore family. I have vivid memories of the Moore and the Kearns families nearly taking up full pews at Christ Our King when we were kids! It's tough to understand how we can lose one of our siblings at such a young age (we also lost our brother Tim at age 59 in late 2017). However, we continue on with good memories of them!

To all of the Moore family,
I loved to listen to Kevin tell a story! He was a lot of fun and I have a couple of memories in particular that I will always treasure. Also, Kevin was a really great cousin. He was a pallbearer for both of my brothers as well as my Mom! Kevin could always be counted on where family was concerned. I will miss him and I am praying for all of you!
Love,
Your cousin Joanne Farris
