I also played with Kevin @ FSU and got to know him a little better as he lived in an apartment next to mine. I probably have not seen Kevin in 25 years, but what I will remember most of Kevin was that he was a sincere and truly genuine person. All the best to the griffis family.

I just heard about Kevin from a B. Harlow. I played football at FSU when Kevin was there. I spoke with Kevin some after I graduated from FSU and he was living in Jacksonville working at GMAC. I'll never forget Kevin as a football player and as a friend. He could always find time to speak and say something good. He was always upbeat. I'll never forget the story about the shooting a GMAC. That was something big back then and he just acted like it happened. I do hope that all of his family can find a special way to remember him to ease any hurt.

I just learned of Kevin's passing from the latest edition of the Florida State Times. I am very sorry for your loss. While I hadn't seen Kevin for many years, as a student manager for the FSU Football team ('80-'84), I had the pleasure of knowing him fairly well. As has been stated in many previous entries, I too remember his politeness, warm personality, and faith, along with his outstanding work ethic & "can do" attitude on the practice fields. Though Kevin was a very good athlete, and a tough competitor, he may not have been as gifted as some of his teammates. However, nobody ever outworked, or outhustled Kevin. I know he was an inspiration to all who had the pleasure knowing him at FSU, and to those who had the opportunity to know Kevin in more recent years. My thoughts & prayers to you all.

Vickie,
Having recently moved away from Fruit Cove, I just now heard the news of Kevin's passing...He coached my son in Pop Warner, and together we often watched Kyle and Alex play in high school...both at practices and the games. Kevin was always there with a kind word and a smile..what a wonderful man he was...his inspiration helped guide my son to the next level and I want you to know that my family's hearts extend to yours in this most difficult time.

Dearest Vicki,
I just heard about Kevin from Nancy Hooks. I had no idea you were all going through this...please know that you and the boys are in my prayers and thoughts. Remember Christ's promise to us and find solice in the knowledge that Kevin is in paradise and you, too will venture there one day. For now, cling to the friends and family who love you so and will be there to walk you through this trauma. I wish I could be there to give you a hug and bring you a comfort meal. God is with you, always...

At one time he was my boss and friend. Later he was my friend and my inspiration in all that I tried to achieve. I was notified of our loss while negotiating the post at Fort Bragg and I guess the Corporal on the gate wondered why my tears as he told me I could pass through. I will miss him until we meet again. I wish the best for Vicki, Jared and Kyle and my prayers are with them daily.

Kevin was a good friend to many, as evindenced by the many that showed up today to his service. He was a kind and compassionate man, who many of our local youth looked up to as their Coach in Pop Warner and Babe Ruth Baseball. He was a good leader to them and a great example to them also. He was always the gentleman. We will miss Kevin.
