Kenneth Gillam Obituary

Kenneth Joseph Gillam CHARLESTON - Entered into eternal rest on the morning of April 12, 2010, Kenneth Joseph Gillam, husband of Elizabeth Gregory Gillam. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Joseph Gillam are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Thursday, April 15, 2010, at eleven o'clock in Charleston Baptist Church. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC, WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Wednesday between five and seven o'clock. Ken was born January 6, 1939, in Orangeburg, SC, the son of King Joseph Gillam, Jr. and Thelma Hughes Gillam. He was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and served with the United States Air Force. Ken was the president of ABC Awning & Venetian Blind Company. He was a member and deacon with Charleston Baptist Church, the Executives Association of Greater Charleston and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; three sons, Kenneth J. Gillam, Jr. (Cindy) of Atlanta, GA, David Allen Gillam, Ph.D. (Cynthia) of Seattle, WA and Joseph Gregory Gillam (Kristina) of Charleston, SC; eight grandchildren, Kayla, Karlie, Joshua, Jonathan, Carolina, Gregory, Callie and Patrick. He is predeceased by his brother, Paul Hughes Gillam. Memorials may be made to Charleston Baptist Church, 13 San Miguel Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
