Kenneth Denman Obituary

Kenneth J. Denman DENMARK, SC - Kenneth Jackson "K.J." Denman, 77, of Denmark, SC, passed away September 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth, a native of Dalhart, Texas, moved to Charleston, SC in 1940 with his family and attended Chicora High School. After graduation he served in the U.S. Air Force for more than twenty years. After retirement he graduated from the University of South Carolina. He went on to work for Santee Cooper, Bechtel, Burns & McDonald and eventually retired from the Savannah River Site in 1995. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Horace Denman and Retta Alice Stout Denman; his siblings, Peggy Denman Johnson, Geraldine Denman Vuich, Virginia "Ginny" Yarborough, Raymond E. Denman, Howard Denman and Joyce Denman Belcher. Survivors include his wife, Sarah A. Denman of the home, (Ken's sweetheart since the third grade); daughters, Elizabeth A. Robinson of Denmark, SC, Susan M. Gladden of Isle of Palms, SC, Rebecca Denman Schultz of Nashville, Tenn.; son, Kenneth J. Denman, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado and a sister, Catherine Cantley of Saluda, SC. Ken was an avid golfer and loved his fourteen grandchildren and his numerous great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Augusta Wounded Warrior Project 4115 Columbia Road, Suite 5-333, Augusta, Ga. 30907-0410. My thoughts & prayers are with you all as this loss came a shock to me. Uncle Kenneth had been weighing heavy on my mind as I just heard not even two (2) weeks ago of his sickness and weakened condition. Words cannot express my sympathy nor my heartfelt sadness for this loss of a most wonderful, caring & loving Uncle, which Uncle Kenneth was to me. Aunt Sarah, Susan, Beth Anne, Kenny & Rebecca I love you each dearly and I am so very sorry for this great loss. My deepest & most sincere apolology for not keeping in touch with this dear Uncle which I loved so much, and as well to you Aunt Sarah & his loving family.
