I am so sad to hear of Keith's passing. He was a good and sweet person. Having gone to school with him in St. George, he was always helpful and kind to everyone with whom he came in contact. He seemed to always wear a smile. I send love and condolences to his family at this dark time.

Mr. Keith Tyner was a nice person. I was shocked when I heard the news. Praying for the family. I also had the pleasure of teaching Jackson, what a sweet boy. ( Gateway Academy).

I am so saddened by the loss of my friend. We lived together as college roomates for two years at USC. I have so many good memories of the times we spent together. Keith actually helped me remodel my baby son's room in 2008. He was a good listener and had a heart of gold. I send my love and prayers to his family.

This is the worst news to ever hear. Such a sweet man. I am glad his life crossed paths with our son so that we also would have the chance to share in Keith's life. He made an impression our family that will never fade. Him and his brothers are such sweet guys. Always something to make you smile. You shall continue to spread love and laughter through the paths of Heaven. Meet us at the gates as we all arrive so that we won't be afraid our forever angel.

Keith was truly a great guy. I always had a great time and lots of laughs when he was around. I'm glad I was able to chat with him a bit and share more laughs while playing video games recently. It's impossible not to talk about Keith with someone and not end up cracking a smile. Even in moments of mourning, I end up thinking of a funny Keith story and start giggling. I love you all very much, and I look forward to seeing Keith again, whenever and wherever that may be.

I remember driving the golf cart around the field with the goats and getting into all kinds of trouble... including driving it into a ditch and hitching the goats to it to pull it out... and making up some crazy story to Mac and Toozie later. Lots of fun times swimming in the pool, running around St. George to all the different playgrounds and running around together growing up with both of the twins. Big hugs to the family.
I was absolutely terrified of those goats, and Keith and his brother would save me every time. Much much love - Mom sends her love too -

I was blessed to work with Keith in his Dorchester County days. I was a Paramedic with DCEMS and Keith's shift typically fell on my shift and we would end up running many calls together.
The thing about Keith was that he was a real person first and a cop second. He always treated people with respect even when they did not deserve it. From the belligerent drunk to the out of control, unkind, unremorseful full on awful person......Keith always had the same starting baseline. He would try to de-escalate first and go from there.
On one particularly difficult trauma call, I had Keith suited up in rescue gear and had him crawling through the back window of a overturned car out in the country. It was just me in a quick response vehicle as my fellow EMS peeps were out on calls and the nearest ambulance was 20 minutes out coming in from Summerville. Keith was there 2nd, basically 30 seconds after me. It was a bad scene. We surveyed the situation and Keith asked what I needed him to do. I told him to put on my rescue gear, go bust out the back window and crawl his body in through the back, while I went in the passenger window so that we could remove the entrapped occupants. I was half way through my speech and he already had half the gear on. Needless to say, everything worked out. One of the reasons it did, was because he was willing go along with whatever dangerous idea I had in mind for him to do.
After that call, when we were dealing with a difficult scene, we would sometimes say out loud for others to hear, "I hope this doesn't end up with someone getting the rescue gear on" and we would share a little snicker under our breaths.
This is the kind of person I knew Keith to be.
Cheers to a great human being, a good dude and a truly real person.
RIP / EOW.

I am at a loss for words. I pray that the Tyner and Hood families find peace in who Keith was and what he meant to so many people. I have known and worked with Keith for many years. Keith always had a kind word and giggle to offer. He was dedicated to his profession and loved his family. I pray for you all. Peace and love to you!
