Kaya Ketzler Obituary

Kaya Marie Ketzler, treasured daughter of Raven (Ketzler) Simpkins and beloved sister of Leon, was born on Jan. 31, 2015, and passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 12, 2015. A beautiful baby girl who touched many lives in such a brief time. During her brief visit she enjoyed cuddling with soft toys (or sleeping with her blankie made by Teri) and being held close by her mom, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. We will always miss and love you. Kaya is survived by her mother, Raven; her brother, Leon Simpkins; and her grandparents, Gloria (and Boris Merculief) and Roger Ketzler. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. "She had the greatest smile, you could make her smile no matter if she was upset, she was the happiest baby. She would baby talk with you when she was hungry, tired, or just wanted to be held. When she cried, she cried: she had strong lungs. I would do anything to hear her crying again and to see her beautiful smiles." Blessings to her aunts, Alisha and Trisha, and grandparents, Boris and Gloria, for babysitting when I was at work, she loved you so. Baby Kaya will be buried next to her family in Nenana, Alaska. Church service will be at St. Marks Episcopal Church on Front Street in Nenana on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at 1 p.m., and the burial will be held after the service at the Nenana Native Cemetery. Afterward, there will be a light lunch at the Parrish Hall next door to the Episcopal Church.
