Kathryn Ann Wheeler "Kathy" Welker

Kathryn Welker Obituary

Kathryn Ann "Kathy" Wheeler Welker MIDDLEBURG, FL - A memorial service for Kathryn "Kathy" Ann Wheeler Welker will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Miles Road Baptist Church, 816 Miles Road, Summerville, SC. Pastor Jim Palmer officiating. Kathy, the daughter of William "Bill" Mason Wheeler and the late Mary Ann Aud, was born January 22, 1960 in Fairborn, Ohio. After a long courageously fought battle, Kathy became an angel on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in Middleburg, Florida. According to Kathy's hospice nurse, in her career as a hospice nurse Kathy was the most spiritual person she ever met. Kathy was a bubbly, joyful, non-stop talker who never met a stranger. Due to Kathy's tremendous love of animals her sister, Marena often called her St. Francis and said Kathy should have been a zoo-keeper since her home and yard always resembled one. Until her illness, Kathy's energy always had her on the go and raring to keep on going...her father is sure the first thing she asked God was "Are we there yet?" Loosing Kathy will forever leave a void in our hearts. We are so proud of her strength, the lessons she taught us during her battle and we know she will now breathe sweet breaths of heavenly air for all eternity.... "This World is not Conclusion. A Sequel stands beyond - Invisible as Music - But positive, as Sound." Kathy is lovingly remembered by her husband of 28 years, Ed Welker, daughters: Mary Ann "Annie" Welker and Emily Alice Welker, grandchildren: Mason Strickland and Kathryn Ann "June" Welker, all of Middleburg, FL; her parents Bill and Margie Ann Harkins Wheeler, brother: Rick Wheeler (Connie), sisters: Marena W. Morton (Jeff), and Donna L. Wheeler all of Summerville, SC; sister-in-law, Gladys W. Liening, brother-in-law, Donnie K. Welker both of Middleburg, FL; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces/nephews. The family would like to thank the following for their loving care and friendship during Kathy's illness: Rhonda Rapp, RN; Donna Maso, LCSW; Dr. Lynn Harper-Nimock and a special thank you to family friend, William Boone. The family asks you to remember Kathy's favorite quote: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God..." In lieu of flowers, please honor Kathy's memory by donating to Miles Road Baptist Church (www.milesroad.org) or Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, Donation Office, 2381 Mason Avenue #100, Daytona Beach, FL 32256. I so remember doing things around the neighborhood with Kathy, playing softball at Tom Conley, going skating at Berchador Coliseum and riding our bikes to Summerville, when we were not suppose to. She was very sweet and a great friend. I will miss asking Marena about her and I have always loved her! She is in heaven with her mom now and so many others that have left this earth!!
