Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Kathy grew up as a true "Marina girl," embodying the vibrant spirit of the city. After her parents, Peter and Tanya Alioto, moved to Marin County, Kathy attended St. Rita School in Fairfax. She later continued her education at San Domenico School, where she cultivated a lifelong passion for languages, conversational in six languages and continued to study them throughout her life.
Kathy embarked on a remarkable journey to Europe for her higher education, graduating from Franklin University in Lugano, Switzerland. She credited this experience as the foundation for her adventurous spirit, curiosity, and enduring love of travel.
Kathy's interests and hobbies were as diverse as they were inspiring. She had a passion for entertaining, cooking, gardening, and genealogy. Her joy was most evident when she shared these pursuits with her family. Her active involvement with her children's schools and her 15-year tenure as a board member of the Salesian Boys and Girls Club reflected her dedication to fostering community and nurturing relationships. Through these activities and her travels with her husband, Albert, Kathy cultivated lifelong friendships with amazing individuals.
Kathy's life was deeply intertwined with that of her loving husband, Albert, with whom she shared 48 incredible years. Together, they embarked on countless adventures. Kathy's legacy is a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and boundless curiosity. She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Her legacy lives on through her children: Tanya (Michael) and Piero, both raised in San Francisco. Kathy's unwavering commitment to her family was lioness-like; she poured her heart into creating a nurturing and loving home. Her wisdom, kindness, and tenacity will forever shape the lives of her family and future generations. Kathy also leaves behind her adoring grandson, Mark, in whom she delighted as she watched him grow. Kathy is survived by her loving brother, Peter Jeffrey Alioto.
