Kathleen M. Guidry
Summerville - Kathleen M. Guidry, lovingly known as "Kathy", "Honeygirl" and "Neenie", passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Born on November 8, 1946, she was the cherished daughter of the late Eugenia Arceneaux.
Kathleen was a graduate of Behrman High School and Charity Hospital's Surgical Nursing Program, both in New Orleans. She was married to her beloved husband, Darrell Guidry, for 58 wonderfully blessed years. Kathleen's greatest joy was raising her family and being the steady, loving presence they could always rely on. She was a faithful member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. She also volunteered at Trident Hospital, Summerville Elementary School, and St. Paul's Medical Outreach Clinic, which allowed her to support her community.
She is survived by her loving husband, Darrell Guidry; her sister, Eugenia Goodrow; her children, Rick Guidry (Ellen), Tara Nelson, and Kathryn Vaughn (Chris). Neenie cherished her eight (8) grandchildren: Erin (Stephen), Zackery, Ryan, Mary Claire, Alexandra, Lilian, William and Emma.
