I have such fond memories of Kathleen. I met her when I joined the Women's Committee at Carnegie Museum of Art in 1995. I volunteered to work on one of the Christmas Trees, and was fortunate to have Kathleen invite me to join her committee. Her workshops were inspiring, productive and pure fun. We sewed, we painted, we created paper mâché angels to rival the Presepio. I still co-chair one of the trees at the Carnegie (though sadly there will be no trees this year) and it is all because of Kathleen -- and her gracious, welcoming spirit who first introduced me to the Carnegie Trees 25 years ago.
Years later, my husband and I were staying in Charleston and drove over to Mt. Pleasant to walk the beach. The first person we saw on the beach that day was Kathleen. Drinks and dinner with Kathleen and Jim were quickly planned for the next night. A simply lovely evening, and a special memory.

Dear Family,
I was so sorry to read of Kathleen's passing in our church bulletin. She and Jim were church friends a First Scots and for many years a part of the same Koinonia monthly dinner group. They were part of its core -- always in attendance and offering wonderful hospitality in their own homes once a year.
Several times I co-hosted with them as a dinner helper, both at their high-rise apartment on Isle of Palms and their Franke apartment. I'll always remember the first time I learned that Kathleen had painted her wine glasses, and another time finding Jim in the kitchen patiently carving up four turkey breasts for that night's dinner.
They were both part of fond memories. I missed our brief Sunday morning hello's when they no longer came to First Scots on a regular basis. You had wonderful parents and grandparents.
God bless--

Dear, Sweet Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you say your final good by to Aunt Kay. She was a mighty woman, wonderful wife and mother and aunt. She had a great influence on all of our family. So many fond memories and there is so much that she taught us and modeled for us through her life. So sad that we cannot all be together during this time but as you celebrate her life please know that we wish that we could be with you and love all of you dearly. Kent and Connie

Both Kathleen and your father touched my heart and my life with their lives and faith! May we all continue their example of what God expects of His faithful children! Peace and love to all their families.
