Kathleen CRUMLEY-NELSON Obituary

Beloved Wife Loving Mother Age 55, of Oakdale, passed away May 18 surrounded by her family. She is survived by Bruce, her loving husband of 27 years, daughter Sierra, sons Philip and Doug, brothers Mike (Sharon), Tim (Carol), Joe (Mary) and Tom (Rocio), sister Mary Ellen (Tim) Nelson, and other family and friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Geraldine Crumley, and brothers Patrick (Mary) and Bill (Kimberly) Crumley. She was our sweet Irish rose - a passionate wife, devoted mother and sister, loyal friend and courageous survivor. She fought cancer with the same determination and vigor with which she lived her life. It may have taken her, but her indomitable spirit for life will live on in our hearts. A pillar of strength within her family and out, Kathy was a dedicated choir member at both OLP and Transfiguration Church. Kathy was born in Rochester, Minnesota on August 9, 1957. She graduated Washburn High School in 1975 and earned a B.S. in Food Service Management from the University of Minnesota. Kathy worked as a Food Service Director at Bridgeport University, Carleton College, the University of Minnesota and Augsburg College with a second career at the Ramsey County Library. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, from 4-8pm at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. 7th Ave, No. St. Paul. The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 5426 - 12th Ave, So. in Minneapolis on Wednesday, May 22, viewing 10:00, funeral services at 11:00 followed by interment at Lakewood cemetery. I first met Kathy when I worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in the late 70's. She was a fun, joyful, caring person. It must have been a blessing to have had her in your lives.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this time of "goodbye. We will always remember the smiles and fun times that we had with you and the Y swim team over the years and all of the trips to the library and the quick "catch up" sessions we had.
