Katherine Ashley Wolfe MT. PLEASANT - Katherine Ashley Wolfe, 27, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, departed this life at her Mt. Pleasant home on Saturday, January 26, 2013. Katy was born on June 14, 1985 in Charleston, West Virginia, daughter of Roger Allen Wolfe and Cheryl Harris Ledbetter. She graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston, West Virginia in 2003 and attended Marshall University and Virginia College. Katy leaves behind to grieve her short life, her mother and step-father, Cheryl and Dennis Ledbetter of Mt. Pleasant, SC; father and step-mother, Roger and Gwyn Wolfe of Charleston, WV; brother, Matthew Wolfe of Charleston, WV; sisters, Rebecca Jane Wolfe of Charleston, WV and Tracy Wolfe and her husband, Oliver Quizon, of Pikeville, KY; step-sister, Lisa Travis and her husband, Andy, of Sayre, PA; step-brother, Phillip Ledbetter and his wife, Amy, of Austin, TX. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Imogene Wolfe of Dunbar, WV; maternal grandfather, Eugene Harris of Clarksville, AR. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Alice Ann Harris, and her paternal grandfather, Jackson Wolfe. Katy was fortunate to have two loving uncles, Ron Harris and his wife, Carolyn, of Nashville, TN and Pat Harris and his wife, Carol, of Los Angeles, CA, her aunt, Pamie, Pamela Riddle and her husband, Philip, of Knoxville, TN and her special great aunts, Sue Pine and her husband, Robert, of Hot Springs, AR and Marjorie Lattimer of Spencer, WV. She was surrounded by several cousins who will miss her greatly. To her nieces and nephews, Mia and Max Travis, Emerson and Sloane Ledbetter, Ethan Wolfe and Emma Quizon, she will always be remembered as "Aunt T". Katy also leaves behind her special friend David Morris. Katy was a kind and gentle soul who loved her family deeply. Katy was also an animal lover who could never turn away a cute dog or stray cat. Her "Critter Family" was an ever present part of her life. She had an eye for all things beautiful - drawing them, creating them and wearing them. Katy was a lifelong Presbyterian and a member of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Kanawha Humane Society, 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, West Virginia 25311. "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" All services will be private.
