Katherine Williamson Obituary

Katherine K. Williamson SUMMERVILLE - Katherine K. Williamson entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Magnolias Assisted Living, 335 Midland Parkway, Summerville, SC 29485, after a long illness. Her memorial service will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Katherine K. Williamson was a beautiful lady and a wonderful mother to three daughters. She was a military wife who was left to take care of her daughters when her husband was deployed at sea. Her number one priority was taking care of her family. Her loving care has always been a cherished part of our life. I hope you realized how much you were loved. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Raymond Williamson of North Charleston, SC; her daughter, Diane W. Coward of North Charleston, SC; her parents, Ellis and Mary Palmer of Beckley, WV; her sisters, Ruth Ann Moore of Norfolk, VA and Gloria Jean Ashburn of Fredericksburg, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Williamson Godwin of Summerville, SC and Sandra W. Bennett of Suffolk, VA; her grandchildren: Heather Coward-Tague of Summerville, SC, her grandson, Christopher Paul Godwin of Summerville, SC, her grandson, William Alexander Bennett of Suffolk, VA, a great-granddaughter, Lillian Marie Tague and great-grandson, William Ray Tague, all of Summerville, SC. Katherine was born in Coalwood, WV on 07 November, 1930 to Ellis and Mary Palmer. She was one of four children. In lieu of flowers, it is asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407. You may also visit www.alz.org/sc.
