Katherine Flannery Obituary

Katherine Flannery HOLLY HILL - Mrs. Katherine Hatfield Flannery, 85, widow of James L. Flannery, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Hospice Center of Hospice of Charleston. A memorial mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Chapel in Holly Hill. Burial will follow in Bethany/Breland Cemetery. Mrs. Flannery was born in Greeleyville, SC a daughter of the late James Allan Hatfield and Kizzie Ard Hatfield Mason. She was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church and assisted with Meals on Wheels. Surviving are daughters, Jenny (Patrick) McBride of Charleston, and Lyla Owens of Seven Lakes, NC; sons, Gene (Jeanne) Flannery and James K. Flannery, both of Holly Hill; sisters, Nautie (Rolston) Tucker of St. Stephen, and Madie Dean Nelson of Wickenburg, Va.; a brother, Richard Mason of Summerville; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Ann Chapel in Holly Hill. Memorials may be made to St. Ann Chapel Holly Hill, PO Box 250, Santee, SC 29142. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Katherine. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend to everybody. She was loved by anyone who met her. May you find peace knowing she's with God and watching over you all.
