Katherine Bull Obituary

Katherine Lucus Bull Georgetown, SC - Katherine Lucas Bull, 90, widow of Commander Joseph Laurie Bull, III, died November 10, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Bull was born in Georgetown on September 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Thomas Cordes Lucas and Alice Vaughan Lucas. Katherine grew up in Georgetown, on Wicklow Hall Plantation and spent her summers in McClellanville. She graduated from Winthrop College in 1955; she worked in Social Services and the Colleton County school district. Mrs. Bull was a member of Prince George Winyah Church and served on the linen, silver and brass guilds. She was an honorary member of the Georgetown Garden Club, past member of the DAR, National Society of the Colonial Dames of America and also the St. Anne's Chapter of Prince George Winyah Church. She enjoyed gardening, growing herbs and flowers. She was a passionate sponsor of St. Jude's Hospital. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bull was predeceased by: two daughters, Katherine Breland and Alice (Boo) Metzendorf; one grandson, Benjamin Lucas Boensch; two sisters, Alice Hutson (Harry) and Mary Easley (Joe). Surviving are: two sons, Arthur Cranwell Boensch (Claudia) and Benjamin Hord Boensch Sr. (Cecile); a daughter, Frances Boensch Murdaugh; two step-daughters, Emily Bull Williams (John); Conyers Bull; eleven grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren. Funeral Services will be two o'clock Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Prince George Winyah Church. Burial will follow in the churchyard.
