KAREN OBORN Obituary

Dear Brian and Family,
It is so hard to be far away when news came of your loss of such a wonderful person. My love for Karen will always be strong. She has been such a great friend and cared for me no matter what my involvement with the church was. I will miss her greatly and will always keep her in my mind and heart. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Oborn Family,
I was a roommate of Karen's at USU when she was studying for her teaching degree. We had a lot of fun together and we were blessed in our apartment with her even temper and fun nature--I still remember how she would read us picture books in lively character voices, and how she enjoyed eating cake batter with the back of a wooden spoon!
We kept in contact for years with Christmas cards and were very lucky when she attended the wedding reception of our oldest daughter.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

Our hearts are broken with the loss of a beautiful Wife, Mother & Friend, I never forgot about her, she is great service on chicago mission with deaf program, She really enjoyed with us. She always laugh and so smile at me. I know she is special lady and wonderful her example to other people or Friends. I'm sure miss her very much

Karen Tolley was a sweet and friendly girl at a time in my life when I was neither. I knew the Oborn family from growing up in Glendale. I offer my condolences to both families, especially since Karen's death came so soon after Brent's death.

I stopped in the bank Friday to see you and inquired how your wife was doing and was shocked to learn that she had passed away. My sincere condolences. I sympathize with your loss. I've appreciated all you have done for me over the years. Thank goodness for the gospel and we know we will see our wives again.

Dear Oborn and Tolley families: There are no words to truly console you at this time. My heart aches for your families. So hard to lose a spouse, mother, sister, daughter-in-law and a great friend. Karen was that nice girl in my algebra class in '75. Knowing the bud, I am certain the flower is greatly missed. I have high regard for Brian and pray for him strength and comfort.

I love this photo! I am deeply saddened to hear of Karen's passing, a beautiful and oh-so sweet and beloved daughter of God. She truly lived a Christ-like life. My heart is weeping for the Tolley and Oborn family at this time. I went to school with Janette and got to know Karen too. We, who are left behind, are weeping, while those on the other side rejoice for her honorable return and welcome her with open arms! We know our separation is but a small moment. May peace and comfort be with you.

Karen touched my life and she probably didn't even know it! When I moved into the ward she was the first person who talked to me and would come to see how I was doing often! She made me feel very welcome in the ward, when no one else did! She is truly an angel and will be missed! Amber Gillespie

It broke my heart when I heard of her passing. She genuinely was a great person and made an impression on so many people. What a kind and wonderful person. She will be truly missed. So grateful for the gospel and the knowledge that we have that we'll be together again.

We loved Karen and admired her often. She is a wonderful example of service. She was always willing to help me and my family in times of need. I loved serving with Karen in the Relief Society and frequently saw her in the halls at school. Our lives have been touched by hers! She is TRULY a wonderful person!! Karen was one of my favorite young women counselors when I was in the Richards ward. I remember her kindness and love towards all. I am sure she will be so missed by her family. I have no words to adequately express my condolences. Karen was a compassionate, kind, loving person and we are all so better for having known her. I feel privileged to have been involved in so many "projects" with Karen over the many years I have known her, mainly PTA related. I was honored to be her friend. I only hope that I can remember to be as kind as she always was to others and follow suit. Karen has done her job well even though she was taken too soon. Karen was the first parent I met after moving to Hillside five years ago. I don't know who I enjoyed having more...her or her amazing daughter. It was soon apparent how many of Abbey's attributes mirrored those of her mother...friendly, bright and focused. She was upbeat and positive and always an example to those around her - just as Karen was - even unto the end. My heart goes out to Abbey and the entire family, but how lucky I feel to have known such a choice lady.

I am so sorry to hear of Karen's passing. I grew up in Sugar House across the street from the Tolley family. I remember Karen as a very sweet and caring person who worked hard to take good care of her Dad after her mother died, when Karen was young. I know that she shared that compassion with others throughout her life. My heart goes out to the Oborn family, as well as to the Tolleys, Grant, Myrna and Leslie at this difficult time.

So sorry to see this. Karen was a special young women in the Richards II Ward many years ago and I remember her well.

Brian, I am so sad you lost your Karen. On top of loosing your twin. I have no words to say. I just want you to know my prayers are with you and your sweet family.
