Karen Dangerfield Obituary

Karen Christina "K.C." Dangerfield James Island - Karen Christina "K.C." Dangerfield, 61, of James Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 2, 2022. K.C. was born December 14, 1960 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Henry Sinclair Dangerfield and Dorothy May (Ham) Dangerfield. She grew up on James Island as the sister to three older brothers. She attended Clemson University and graduated with a degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism. After working in the hotel industry for several years, she went on to a life of service with the South Carolina Social Security/Disability Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. She received both state and national recognition and awards for her accomplishments with the department. K.C. thoroughly enjoyed her work and her co-workers brought her great joy. K.C. was active in the life of Westminster Presbyterian Church, serving as both deacon and a dedicated member of the choir. She enjoyed singing and spent many years studying under the direction of her voice coach Loretta Haskell. She was a faithful daughter in the care of her mother. She enjoyed her nieces and nephews very much, and adored their children. Her cat, YoYo, was a sometimes constant yet always faithful friend. K.C. passed after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer which she faced with courage and faith. She remained active and working throughout this time and always optimistic. She had a way of always smiling and letting Jesus' love shine through her. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Sinclair Dangerfield, her brothers, Henry "Hank" Sinclair Dangerfield, Jr., and Michael "Mike" Allen Dangerfield. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy "Dot" May Ham Dangerfield, her brother, Douglas Martin Dangerfield, her niece, Katherine Dangerfield Edwards (Will), and her nephew, James Michael Dangerfield (Maggie), as well as three great-nieces and one great-nephew. In K.C.'s memory, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at give.bcrf.org, 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036; or to Westminster Presbyterian Church Music Ministry, 1157 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407. A funeral service will be held in Westminster Presbyterian Church, Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 2:00 pm, followed by interment in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in Covenant Hall at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 1:00 pm until time of the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. I am so very sorry for your loss, sending prayers for KC family! I do have some fond memories of KC, I started working for DDS in 2013, at the Christmas Party she invited me to come and sit at her table since I was all by myself, and really did not know anyone, from that time on she was always friendly to me. She always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by so many!

KC was such a sweet person. We worked together at DDS. Many nights, it was just me and KC at the office. I called her my "late night buddy". We worked near each other and would remind each other when it was time to leave (before the alarm went off) so we could walk out to our vehicles together. RIP KC. You will truly be missed.
May God provide, peace, comfort and strength to the family during this time

Kasey has touched so many lives in such a positive manner. She consciously walked a spiritual path to help others wherever needed. She always had the time to talk with you and to be a spiritual advisor, as well as a friend. I will miss her dearly, and know she in the arms of God.

Well done faithful servant. You will be remembered always by your love, faith, joy of life, constant giving of service and kindness, and beautiful singing. A friendship with Karen was a gift.
Hebrews 11: 6 "And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him."
