To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Joan, Children and the Family:

I regret that Karen made her transition, and wanted to tell you that the appearance of death is but a paradox, as it is the portal through which we enter the realm of eternal life. The body is but a vehicle for the Spirit-Soul, therefore, "... don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen ... the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal...".

I remember Karen and Kateena being the same age as Candy, who lives in Doluglasville, Ga., and sends her deepest regrets and love.

I saw Karen last year and sent word to you that I thought you had done such a great job rearing your children, and that you are a tribute to single mothers.

Now, it is going to take every bit of the strength that you had as a single mother, and more, to endure your loss.

In her position, she touched many lives, therefore, she will also live on in their memories and affection.
Karen told me that she was in the ministry, and I was proud of that, since I am also in the Seminary right now.

She returned to Spirit, and as it says in Qohelet 1:2: "Vanity, vanities of all vanity! Everything is vanity!"
The translation of the meaning of that quotation is: "It's absurd to think that you can live outside of the will of God; everything is vapor, breath, Spirit!" According to Genesis 1:26, in the Allegories of Genesis: "Now, let us make humankind in our image, and according to our likeness...". If, then, God is Spirit, we are Spirit by our true nature. Nature claims her own in the manifest and Infinite exressions.

"Though her soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light; she loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." Bid her a good-night/morning, she has entered the Divine realm where everything is Light, and I bless her in her soul's unfoldment in God - all there is or ever will be; what we think we see is an illusion.

Sorry to hear about your loss. My acquaintance with Karen occurred as a result of my attending conferences at New Bethel Sounds of Praise. In her sweet, southern, gentle and respectful manner, as a National Adjutant she always walked with purpose and sincerity. She always projected that she loved God and strived to represent him well. I will miss her lovely, warm and friendly personality.

To Katina and the Carter family,

My prayers are with you during this time. I was shocked when I received the text messages on Thursday morning of Karen's transition from earth to Glory! I first met Karen and Katina at Abundant Life Tabernacle AME Zion back in 1992. I had the pleasure of getting to know Karen through attending many of the worship services at "The Tabernacle" in the early 90's on Rutledge Avenue. We were classmates together at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC during the 1994-1995 school term. She loved the Lord with all of her heart, soul and mind. We served together in Student Christian Fellowship and on A Touch of Faith Gospel Choir at the University of South Carolina. A Woman of God, she surely was! She will be missed and appreciated for all that God allowed her to contribute to the Body of Christ!

No more sorrow and no more weeping, peace and joy everyday. For besides life’s crystal river, God shall wipe all tears away. Oh the joy of meeting Jesus, mortal tongues cannot portray. For we know when we behold him he shall wipe all tears away.

ALL THE PAIN IS GONE; SHE'S IS NOW AT REST
NOTHING TROUBLES HER ANYMORE.

IT'S WE WHO FEEL THE BURDEN OF OUR SADNESS AND GRIEF; WE HAVE TO CRY, TO MOURN OUR LOSS BEFORE WE GET RELIEF.

WE KNOW WE'LL RECONNECT WITH HER
AT THE END OF EACH LIFE'S ROAD;
WE'LL SEE HER CHERISHED FACE AGAIN
WHEN WE RELEASE OUR EARTHLY LOAD.

My deepest sympathy to your family. I just happen to be reading the obituary while out of town on a trip and am truly saddened. You all are just like family to me. Karen was very jubilant and full of love for Jesus Christ. Rest in peace and know that God is in control. Love, Karen Wright-Chisolm and Family.

My deepest sympathy to the Carter family. Karen, my sister/counsins, and I were childhood friends (playing together on Reid/Amherst Street). We reunited as co-workers at Brentwood Middle. Karen always had a sweet soul and caring heart for the children she advocated for to become successful young adults. She impacted the lives of many children and I know they are greatful. Rest in peace my friend and you are now in heaven with my mom, your granny and aunties.

WOW! I am indeed yet shocked about the passing of Karen. She was such an exceptional, respectful, humble, and loving lady. I always knew her to keep a bright smile on her face. She will be missed. I met her through her brother (Timothy) more that 20 years ago, and then we later served in the same church. R.I.P Karen...

To the grieving family,
I too will miss Karen, I took advantage of an opportunity to re-introducing myself to my little cousin about 3 years ago at her father's funeral. I hadn't seen her since she was a baby. She blossomed into beautiful woman who was on fire for the LORD, so family and friends take comfort in knowing :
Matthew 5:4
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
2 Corinthians 3:4
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
