Junior Mathis Obituary

Junior "Stoney" Lee Mathis, II SUMMERVILLE - Junior "Stoney" Lee Mathis, II, 51, of Summerville, husband of Linda K. Mathis, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 at his residence. Friends and family may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 4 o'clock until hour of service. Funeral services will begin at 5 o'clock PM. Burial will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial in Forest City, NC. Stoney was born on May 10, 1963 in Spartanburg, SC son of the late Junior Lee Mathis and Betty Jean (Shehan) Mathis. He graduated from RS Central High School in Rutherfordton, NC. He received his Bachelor's degree in political science from Baptist College and his Master's degree in business from Limestone. He served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. Stoney enjoyed fishing, going to the gun range and shopping with his daughter. He worked for the SC Department of Revenue for 10 years and was an auditor. Surviving in addition to his wife Linda are: one daughter: Savannah Lee Mathis of Summerville; stepson: Franklin Price of Goose Creek; brother: Barry Huntley (Donna) of Ellenboro, NC; several nieces and nephews, many "adoptive" children and many aunts, uncles and cousins in North Carolina. He was predeceased by his brother, Randy Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406 A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www.jamesadyal.com.
