June Miller Mt. Pleasant - June Elizabeth Miller, 96, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018. She was born on June 5, 1921 in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late Mary Boswell Springer and the late Eugene Springer. June graduated from Maryland Institute of Art. She enjoyed drawing and painting, and various crafts. June was an active member of her church in Ellicott City, MD; First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant and Northbridge Baptist Church in Charleston. Her family will remember her as a devoted Christian and caregiver. Besides her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edward Earl Miller, her sister and two brothers. She is survived by two sons: Ridgely "Rick" Miller and his wife, Ann, of Charleston, SC and John W. Miller and his wife, Cecilia, of Houston, TX; daughter, Susan L. Gardner and her husband, Roger, of Austin, TX; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Baltimore, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northbridge Baptist Church, 1160 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Charleston, SC 29407.
