Paul - I was so sorry to hear today about your father. He was such a gentleman, and always wanted to help me in any way that he could. I know you will miss him very much.

Oh, how I loved to go in that old shop on Broad St. Mr. Smith was so wonderful with all my problems. I would always find things that I couldn't elsewhere. Mrs. Smith was wonderful also. The younger Mr. Smith always came to my rescue so readily, I can't tell you now much the Smith's meant to me while I lived on Queen St. My thoughts are with the family.

To all the Smith Family: My condolences are for each one of you as you go through this time of sadness and grief.
As part of the extended family for many years, I have some of the greatest memories of my lifetime.
It seems as death has become a frequent thing in all of our lives lately, but when sickness occurs, it is a beautiful thing to know that our loved ones are at peace and no longer suffering.
Always remember the happy times, speak of Junie often and peace will eventually fill each one of your lives. I know your hearts are heavy now, but always remember, joy comes in the morning.
Thanks for all the wonderful things you did for Juli and know that I love all of you dearly.
God Bless you all and I pray that God gives each of you the strength to get through the days to come, especially for Ms. Shirley, Junie's bride!
I love you all,
Linda & family

I did not know Mr. Smith very well or for long. What I knew about him was through his son Julian. When Mr. Smith h would show up for celebrations from the Bridge Run or for a special award to his son, he beamed with pride for his son. During the same time, his son beamed with pride for his father and grateful for having him there and then you knew why this family was so strong. God grant you peace during this time of your loss.

We are greatly saddened by the news of "Junie"'s death. Over the years we have come to love and admire him. We will miss his happy manner and beautiful smile. I don't recall ever seeing him without that smile. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Shirley and the children.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Smith over the years and have always shared the love and joy of gardening with him. I have two large maple trees in my yard in Dothan, Alabama that he gave me a long time ago as 5 inch seedlings and I think of him and the whole family every day I look at them. My sadness at seeing such a special man pass from us is profound and my condolences to all of you.
With heartfelt sorrow and love, Pam Barker Gwinn

Julian, Susan, Paul, and Charles, I want to express my sincere condolences to all of you upon the passing of your father, Mr. Julian. As you will recall our back yard backed up to yours when we were children. I could not help to notice in the obit how he spent his retirement years enjoying his backyard garden. I can only imagine what this garden was like....because the one thing I can remember the most was that the backyard garden behind our house growing up was unbelievably beautiful--complete with layed brick walkways and a goldfish pond. Mr. Julian was an imposing figure of a man and, as a boy, you never wanted to be caught running through his garden! I spent many a moment looking over the wall and admiring this incredible backyard. I also remember that Mr. Julian was an extremely hard worker and talented with his hands. God blessed us all with his life. Bill Utsey, Simpsonville SC.
