Such a great loss! The obituary summarizes Julian perfectly...a kind man who spread brightness wherever he went. He made a big difference in his profession and community. My late husband Pat was very fond of him...hopefully they are enjoying a good laugh in the great beyond. My sincere condolences to the family.

I am SOOO SORRY I´m just finding out about the passing of such a wonderful and kind and FUNNY and intelligent man of God!!!
He taught me ( or TRIED to teach me ) chemistry in pharmacy school and he did a GREAT JOB!!
He showed interest in ALL OF US!!!... he was also a neighbor of my family when I grew up...
And talking about a man and professor with a sense of humor... one morning I was running a LITTLE LATE to chemistry lab.. ( many of us had enjoyed a few libations the night before).. anyway when i arrived and was apologizing to him.. he asked me to open my lab drawer... he needed something.. when i opened it I almost passed out in HORROR!!
There was an empty beer can in there!!!! As I quickly tried to close it he broke out in laughter!!! Along with the rest of my class!!!
NEVER did find out how or where he got it!!!
Just finding out about his passing has broken my heart because i CERTAINLY would have been there to celebrate the life of a man who was loved by sooo many!!!
May you rest in peace Dr McGill... and thanks for all you did for me and soooo many others!!

He was one of the best and favorites of professors at MUSC College of Pharmacy. His gentle spirit touched a lot of his students.

I had the honor and pleasure of working with this wonderful, funny and kind man. He was such a joyful and loving man and kept me laughing every day. Him and his beautiful wife set high standards for all marriages. They truly loved, respected and admired each other. He was such a hard worker in rehab and brought fun and laughter to our gym. His favorite thing when walking to the gym was to stop by the aquarium in our building to "harass" the fish. He always did it with a smile and laughter. He loved the aquarium and at times would sit in the chair by it and watch the fish play. It brought him so much joy. He is so missed by all who knew him but there is no doubt he is with the Lord. His faith was so strong and I know he is in heaven having the time of his life.
