Judith Denning Obituary

Judith Denning Moncks Corner - Judith Scott Berry Denning, 72, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 12, 2018. She was born August 14, 1945, in Kinston, N.C. to the late Sallie Nadine Harper Scott and Julius Grant Scott. Judy graduated from St. Paul's High School in Hollywood, S.C. in 1963 and attended the University of South Carolina. She worked as an executive secretary in the South Carolina Governor's office under three governors; as an assistant to the Secretary of the Department of Energy; and retired from the S.C. Senate as an administrative assistant. She was designated "A Palmetto Lady" by Governor James B. Edwards in recognition for her service to the State of South Carolina. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening and home renovation. She "enjoyed making things look beautiful again." In addition to her professional career, Judy was an entrepreneur; she was the creator of "Kelly Dolls." She was a loyal friend, caring neighbor, had a tremendous work ethic, provided for her children and had a deep love for her family. Judy was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Michael Berry and wife, Julie; her daughter, Alana Dysart and husband, Mike; and her grandchildren, Lane Berry, Alex and Lauren Dysart and Tyler Wright. Graveside services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Meggett, SC, on Saturday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Frank Bailey conducting the service and eulogy given by Cameron Smith. It was Judy's desire that gifts and memorials be made to the building fund at Tri-City Baptist Church, 152 Lazy Hill Road, Moncks Corner, S.C. 29461. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, N.C. and J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home, Charleston, S.C. are serving the family of Mrs. Denning. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com. I am only learning of Judy's passing today, June 15, 2021. Judy was married to, but separated from, my brother, Julio Val Denning. Val passed away in February, 2012. My family and I were always very fond of Judy and are saddened to learn of her passing. I pray she rests in peace and that her family finds comfort in knowing Judy is with our Father in Heaven. My family would like to know what happened with Judy. I haven't spoken with Judy in several years but always thought of her in very good health. I was quite surprised to learn that she was no longer with us. If a family member feels like contacting me to let us know what happened, I would appreciate it. If not, that's alright too. Sending Judy's family and loved ones our prayers. Donna Denning

So sorry to hear of Judy's passing. She was a wonderful lady. I loved getting to know her, when she worked in the SC Senate. Loved her intellect and sense of humor. God's peace and grace to your family. ( 2 Corinthians 5:1)
