Juanita Knight Obituary

Juanita S. Knight ST. STEPHEN, SC - Juanita Steen Knight, 69, of St. Stephen, SC, died Monday evening in a Charleston hospital. Her funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, March 5, 2011, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will follow in the St. Stephen Episcopal Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening. Mrs. Knight was born February 11, 1942, in Charleston, SC, a daughter of William Hazel Steen and Dorothy Gertrude Locklair Steen. She was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle in Cottageville. She loved the lord number one, but Mrs. Knight also loved to read, play video games, and spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by a brother, Murray P. Steen, Sr. Surviving are, her husband of 53 years whom she married on January 10, 1958, Carl O. Knight; three daughters, Darlene Jenkins and her husband, Arthur, of Jacksonville, NC, Kim Porter and her husband, Thurmond, of Bonneau Beach, and LuAnn Thomas and her husband, David, of Macedonia; three sons, Alan Knight and his girlfriend, Tammy Taylor, of Ladson, Jamie Knight and his wife, Tammy, of Ridgeville, and Matthew Knight and his wife, Wendy, of St. Stephen; her mother of Cottageville; two brothers, William Steen and James Steen both of Cottageville, SC; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
