Juanita Jones Obituary

Juanita "Nita" Bright Jones INMAN, SC - Juanita Bright Jones, 84 of 200 Fortress Dr., Inman, SC, entered eternal rest on September 2, 2015. Formerly of Lyman Lake and the Isle of Palms, SC, she was born on August 9, 1931 in Lyman, SC. She was the daughter of the late Boyce Dean and Catherine McLemore Bright. She was married to the late Robert L. "Bob" Jones of Greer, SC. She retired in 1992 after 32 years in school food service, first at Cleveland Jr. High, then Spartanburg High School followed by Sullivan's Island Elementary School. After retirement she worked at Boone Hall Plantation, Mt. Pleasant, SC, in the gift shop and the Butterfly garden. Survivors include: her son, Robert L. "Robby" Jones; daughter-in-law, Joyce Brown Jones; and grandson, Graham Jones of Lyman Lake, S.C.; her daughter, MaLinda Jones Chase and son-in-law, Mogens Larsen of Naesby, Denmark; her brother, Don Bright of Midlothian, VA. She was predeceased by her grandson, Bobby Jones of Lyman Lake, SC, and her sister, Mrs. W.E. "Bobby" Harvey of Greer, SC. A Celebration of the life of Juanita Jones will be held on September 10, 2015 at the Holly Springs Baptist Church, 251 Hannon Rd., Inman, SC. Visitation from 2:00pm, service at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, 300 Ministry Drive, Irmo, SC 29063 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Rd., Landrum, SC 29356. As a donor to the MUSC Anatomical Gift Program, a Service of Remembrance and Gratitude will be held in the Medical University Chapel of St. Luke, corner of Ashley Ave. and Bee St., Charleston, SC, in the spring of 2016.
