Joyce Mock Obituary

MOCK, Joyce Mrs. Joyce Kathyren Thomas Mock, 72, of 1212 Yemassee Highway, in Varnville, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter in Gifford, after a courageous battle. Mrs. Mock was born in Ocala, Florida, September 25, 1933, a daughter of the late Olson and Daisy Lewis Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Level Baptist Church near Grays. She was the widow of Benjamin "Ben" F. Mock. Surviving are: sons, Eugene Mock and wife Regina of Garner, North Carolina, and William "Billy" Mock and wife Ruthie; and Robert "Bobby" Mock and wife Juanita all of Walterboro; daughters, Kathy Eadie and husband Harold of Gifford; and Kimberly Tuten and husband Harold of Gifford; there are ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mock was predeceased by a daughter, Melissa Dean; and grandchildren, Benji Dean and Harold "Bucky" Eadie. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt to many who knew her. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, in the Pine Level Baptist Church near Grays, conducted by Pastor Kevin Byrd, with burial in the Hampton Cemetery, directed by PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME in Hampton Cemetery, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton. Friends may call Tuesday at the Chapel located at 300 Mulberry St., in Hampton, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday until 2 p.m. when the casket will be placed in the church prior to services.
