Joyce Condon Gertis BEAUFORT, SC - Entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, Joyce Canavan Condon Gertis 54, of Beaufort, SC. The relatives and friends of Joyce C. Gertis are invited to attend her Rite of Committal at 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Graveside, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends this Wednesday evening between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Joyce was born in Charleston on June 17, 1957, a daughter of Edward Igoe and Mary Joan Canavan Condon. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and was a graduate of St. Andrew's High School. Joyce retired from the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort as a Legal Clerk and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She is survived by her children: Savannah Jane Gertis and Christopher Brian Gertis and her siblings: Thomas C. Condon, Anita C. van de Erve, Edward I. Condon, Gerald E. Condon, Charlotte C. My aunt Joyce was a great woman. I remember when I was a young girl she would come visit my sister and I all the time. She would always make sure we had what we needed. I love you so much, and I know you are happy.
