Joyce Dillon Obituary

I was so sorry to read about Joyce, I first contacted her when we found an abandoned Bloodhound..I was working with Joyce to help this beautiful one when we decided to keep her... Joyce was thrilled..she will always have a special place in my heart...Love Jan. and my "Molly"

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Joyce. While I only had contact with her on two occasions, she is the reason that I have my beautiful bloodhond girl, Lulabelle. Joyce sent me the application and approved it almost three years ago and we have been nothing but grateful to her, the southeast bloodhound rescue and Amy at S.P.A.Y. Lee in South Florida. I just found out that Mrs. Joyce had passed. She was a wonderful woman. She helped us find Bubby, our 3 yr old bloodhound. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. We had a rocky beginning, but Mrs. Joyce was always available. She gave us so many ideas and a ton of advice. She will be greatly missed.

I was so sorry to hear about Joyce. I have known her for over 40 years, starting with horses at Watchung Stables in NJ. She certainly will be missed.

Joyce was an inspiration and a treasure. She was a guiding force for SEBR and I will miss talking to her and laughing with her over these tireless bloodhounds. Joyce thank you for helping my dogs get to me.

My rescue Edgar opened my heart to SEBR, but Joyce gave me the opportunity to help others experience the same love. I regret we were not able to meet in person. Having read about her life, we had so many things in common. Courage to her husband Tom, perseverance to my fellow volunteers and love to the bloodhounds in need.

Thank you Joyce and Tom for helping me rescue my Bloodhound this past summer. Could not have done it without you. You have changed my life. I will miss Joyce's guidance and wisdom. Joyce was such a special lady. I was in town last week and deeply saddened that I just missed seeing her again. I feel alone now without her. I will always remember her in a speical way.

I was so saddened to hear of Joyce's death. Her rescue web site, emails, and conversations on the phone has helped me to embrace this most delightful breed of dog. There is nothing like a bloodhound as our dog, "Gurl" (a rescue from Atlanta, GA) has taught us. It is amazing how one person can make such an impact on another's life through conversation. If you ever communicated with Joyce you could feel her enthusiasm and passion for the work she did so well. Joyce indirectly gave me a priceless gift named George who is now a 4 year old bloodhound trained and working in search and rescue for lost children and missing adults. It is with great sadness we lose such an unselfish, giving, generous person but it is with great honor we will carry out her wishes and legacy.

My deepest condolences to Joyce's family.
The rescue community has lost a dear friend. I am grateful for Joyce's partnership and support and there will be many Bloodhounds rescued in her memory.

Joyce was an inspiration to me. She was my mentor and I respected her so very much for all she did for the animals and people around her. I will miss our conversations and emails -but she has another job to do....

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Joyce in person, I was fortunate enough to receive corrispondance from her via mail on occassion.

I aspire to be the type of person that Joyce was. She had vision and demonstrated true leadership in saving God's creatures. She was truly and angel here on earth.

The Bloodhounds on earth have lost an Angel. She is now caring for the ones who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. There will be a deep hole in rescue without her. I pray for the courage of her colleagues to press on for the cause she so loved.

Although I had never Met Joyce Dillon, I learned this week how very loved she was by her friends. I hope that her mission continues forward and that each Bloodhound saved will be in dedication of her. My prayers and sympathies go out to the family that she cherished and that loved her deeply.

We are all saddened by the loss of a great leader and friend. Her memory will go on in the hearts of all of us for all she has done. She will be greatly missed.

I was deeply saddened when I learned of Joyce's death. To Tom and her family and friends I want you to know how very sorry I am that she has left you all so suddenly. One of my first thoughts was oh my what a long line will be waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge. Joyce was an angel on earth, helping so many Bloodhounds to find their forever homes. We only were able to meet through emails, but it was easy to tell what a loving, caring woman Joyce was. She will be missed by many, including me.

Joyce will be working with Animals in another place now. A place where Animals & Humans no longer suffer the pain of this world. God Bless her, and all those who cared for her, as she cared for them.

We have lost a dear friend and caretaker. She took care of us just as she did her beloved bloodhounds. She is be forever in our hearts and we will miss her indomitable spirit and great humer.

The Rescue Community nationwide, I am sure, will mourn her loss as news of her passing spreads. While I didn't know her, she obviously was a wonderful woman. I am sure she is now with those hounds she loved on the other side of the Bridge.

I never met Joyce in person. She was a huge encouragement to me for getting into Bloodhound rescue and I'll be forever grateful for that. She will be sorely missed as she was an amazing woman.

The bloodhounds in heaven must have needed a champion..........Joyce, we miss you.

Joyce and I became friends a little over a year ago. It began to feel as though I'd known her forever! I learned so much from her. I f it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have Boone, my beloved Bloodhound. She matched us up. We discovered later that we had horses in common too. She'd had horses with a trainer I'd worked for. I most likely met her years ago and didn't even realize it.
I will never forget her. She really influenced my life. She worked tirelessly to find good homes for Bloodhounds. I know she helped people too, because she sure helped me. I will miss her. My heart goes out to Tom , her dogs and the rest of her family. I will keep them all in my prayers.

I am very sorry to hear about Joyce's death. We in the animal rescue family will sorely miss our animal rescue friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in this tough time of your life. God had a greater plan for her and sometimes we can not understand it until we go there ourselves.
