My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Mr. Yusko was a wonderful person. "One of a Kind" I remember eating lunch with Joe & Ellie & I was trying to kill the bee in the kitchen. Joe thought it was so funny, but we did it. I'm glad I had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be deeply missed. I love all of you very much!! Love, Stephanie

I'd just like to say that I am sorry for the passing of a good father, honorable veteran, man, and friend.
I am a friend with the entire family and was asked to spend some time with Joe if I had the time. I made the time--and it was quality time indeed, (for him, I hope; for me, I know). Just 2 days before his final flight, we talked about the Air Force and him travelling all over the world and him seeing and visiting places that most of us have never heard of or will ever see, the cooler weather, and his family. I asked him where his favorite place was in the whole world...he got to thinking...and I had to put a stipulation on the question--other than Goose Creek--he laughed alittle..but never answered. I guess the laugh was his answer. While we talked, he grinned ear-to-ear and his eyes would just shine and dance. I prayed for Joe, he didn't know it..but when I thought Joe was taking a snooze I shared that with his fellow roommate. "Sneaker" Joe squeezed my hand and looked me straight in the eye and said thank you for praying for me--Joe touched my heart that day. Joe held my hand and wouldn't let go until he was ready to send me home. The morning of his last day with us, his daughter and I went to visit him and that evening he was born again. Joe loved his country and his family and boy did he love his dearest Ellie. Their's is a true love--hardships, yes; good times, yes; but I love you was said everyday.
Joe, you will be missed, but you will not be forgotten. You are in everyone who you touched and as time goes on and stories passed around, you will live forever...it was your time to pass the torch. From a grateful nation and a fellow veteran, I salute you Joe and family hug.

I didn't personally know Joseph Yusko Sr. but I had the honor of knowing his amazing daughter, Vickie, and her equally amazing son, Jason. It wasn't until the death of my best friend,Jason, that I began to meet more of the family. After meeting this family I felt an incredible love and warmth about them. I always knew that Jason had a wonderful spirit and a truly infectious personality. His personality would light up a room. Then after becoming close to his mother I realized where Jason got his talens and his personality. Wee, is like a second mother to me and she is one of my most trusted and dearest friends. She raised two wonderful boys, worked like a trojan and has been amazingly strong through all of the hardships in the past two years. She has been through more than any one person should have go through in such a short period of time. What can I say... she is truly amazing and from what I see of this family the apples don't fall far from the trees.>smile

My Dad. He was a man of many talents. He was strong and he was true. And even in the toughest times, His love we always knew. He stood behind his family. And would fight for us to no end. He would make each one of us feel special, time and time again. He was a Giant! A Hero in my eyes. He was always someone I was proud of. And he was always very wise. He made me want to be like him, in so many different ways. And he taught me many lessons, all along the way. But most of all he loved us, with everything he had. And I am so very thankful, that I had him as my Dad. Written by Vickey (wee) Heberling (Oct. 29th 2008) To my Daddy. Joe Yusko. The greatest father anyone could ever have. U are my Star Dad. & U will be forever in my heart! I love you!

Dear Ellie, Carolyn and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family in this time of bereavement. We were so fortunate to have you folks as neighbors. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Joe at the Naval Supply Center and will cherish those memories. The Lord certainly blessed us by allowing us to be just a small part of your lives. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. If there is anything we can do, please let us know. We love you. May God comfort and bless you in the future.
