Msgt. Joseph Nelson, Jr. CHARLESTON - Funeral service for Msgt. Joseph Nelson, Jr., 84, of Charleston, S.C., husband of the late Mrs. Lottie Mae Nelson, will be held this morning, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 3317 Meeting Street Rd., Charleston, S.C. 29405 at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Nelson will be laid to rest in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd., Columbia, S.C. 29229 on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Military Honors. He leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories, his beloved sister, Dorothy (Dot) Nelson Bligen of Charleston, S.C.; his brother, Retired First Sergeant and Bishop Thomas L. Nelson; two daughters: Vivian Nelson Hargrave and Rose Sherrie Nelson Davis; two granddaughters: Courtney Nelson and Rebekah Davis; five grandsons: Calvin Davis, Jr., Andre Nelson, James, Antione, and Joe Nathan Hargrave; seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
