Dear Mitzi and all members of the McDevitt family,

It has been a pleasure to share many memories with all of you. We have really had some spectacular Thanksgivings together. I will never forget our first meeting at Styles point. You all are in our prayers and thoughts. We will miss Joe so much. He not only became loved by our family, he brought along some wonderful children and their families. We must make it a point to continue the relationships Joe has brought into our lives. Jerry and I treasure each of the McDevitt family and we send our deepest sympathy to all of you. "To be absent from the body means to be present with the Lord." Joe awaits our reunion one day, and he will probably be planning a party when we all finally join him in the home of our precious Lord. Love, Mary Lou and Jerry George

My thoughts are with you all. At some time or other I've met most of you - although years or decades ago.

I'm one of Bill Hanagan's daughters from Mt. Vernon, IL (now in Oregon).

While still in Illinois years ago, it was good to spend some time with Paul and his family.

I last remember the graciousness with which Mitzi and Joe welcomed me for a week in Charleston in 1987. I was fortunate to see Jay, Rick & Cathy and Gerry then, too.

Joe's enthusiasm and energy will live on in my memory. I hope the years of good memories and the feeling of love will hold you all well in this time.

As a very junior JAGC lieutenant, I met the Admiral in the Pentagon and immediately could tell he "had boys." I never knew it was nine! (I feel like a piker with a mere five.) He was a fine officer and a gentleman and will be missed.
