Joseph Edward Mazzell CHARLESTON - Joseph Edward "Eddie" Mazzell, 71, of Charleston, SC died Tuesday, May 6, 2014. The relatives and friends of Eddie Mazzell are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel one hour prior to the service. Eddie was born March 30, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Joseph Palmer Mazzell and the late Helen Crawford Mazzell. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a Machinist in Shop 38. Eddie was a 1961 graduate of Chicora High School. He is survived by his daughter, Denise Vierling of Stafford, VA., his son, Joseph Mazzell, resident of Sicily, his son, Michael Mazzell of Charleston, SC, and step-daughter Christine Petty of Charleston SC, six grandchildren and one sister, JoAnn Mazzell Locklair formerly of Charleston. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407. Eddie and I go way back to Winn Dixie in the early 60's and later at the Navy Yard. Our prayers go out to all who knew and loved him...Jim H
