Joseph Aquino "Joe" Chargualaf CHARLESTON - Joseph Aquino "Joe" Chargualaf, age 69, of Charleston South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 27, 2016, at 2:30AM. Visitation arrangements have been made with Simplicity Funeral Home at 7475 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston. A private viewing for immediate family members will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016, from 5PM - 6PM, and followed by an open visitation from 6PM - 8PM for those wishing to pay their last respects. A mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, from 11AM - 1PM, also at the Simplicity Funeral Home. Joseph was born in Barrigada Guam on March 30, 1947, a son of Angel Indalacio Chargualaf and Maria Aquino Chargualaf. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army for 23 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served courageously as a soldier in the 101st Airborne Division. Joseph loved participating in Chamorro cultural events and gave selflessly of his time promoting the importance of maintaining the Chamorro heritage. Joseph was dearly loved by his family and friends. Joseph is survived by his beloved companion Doris and her children; his children Angela, Joseph, Randy, and Franky; his brothers and sisters; Mac, Ignacio, Johnny, Benny, Evelyn and Mary; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces; and a multitude of extended family and friends.
