To the Barfield family
The love and hugs of your family I will miss, your father has gone to be with the Lord because it was his time. May God always bless you.
I will miss his smile here at the VA.

Donnie, Was sorry to hear about your Dad. I enjoyed visiting him and seeing your Mom at Lifecare. Your Mom is a special person, she had to really love your Dad. She spent alot of time up there. As you remember Daddy was across the hall. (Chief Walker, passed away 1-4-06).

To the Barfield Family, you are in my prayers and thoughts during this time of grief. The only consolation is to know that before long we will all be together again in Heaven if we have received Christ as our Savior. Mr. Barfield helped to mold me and direct me in my early years during my baseball years at Dorchester. He was a light in the community. And yes, he even corrected me when I needed it. I look forward to seeing him again when that great roll is called up yonder.

I last saw you at the nursing home with Mr. Barfield where my Mom, Iris Cunningham and Mr.James Hanniford were at. We had laughs there, just like a reunion and I know Momma and Mr. Hanniford were at the gates of Heaven to greet Mr. Barfield. Joe as my dad called him was a great man, coach, fisherman, dad, neighbor ,knew him as far back as i can remember, went fishing with him & my dad many times, fished all day & then off to the baseball field, tired as hell, but that never stopped him from helping kids involved in sports, he nicknamed me catfish, will take that to my grave..RIP COACH BARFIELD
