To the family, friends, and associates of Jordan, I pray that God will give you comfort and peace through Jesus Christ to withstand such a shocking lost. It is written that God knows the way even when we don't understand or agree with the outcome. In times like this, the true test of that faith really comes forth if it's real. So be strong in the Lord and He will show us the silver lining behind this very dark cloud. I didn't know Jordan but I cried out to God as if this were my very own child! May the Lord give us the energy of Jordan in doing His will with our lives. I love you all!!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To Family
Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for you. Lo'tria and Juan when I heard the sad news I was so full of sorrow. I immediately thought happier times when Jordan was baby. I would see Jordan every morning just so full of life, as tria dropped him off before school. As He has been laid to rest I will keep that memory forever of a young brother that was destine to do great things. I am sure he has touched many people positively before being called on to the Lord. All I can say is "Well Done, Well done!"

To the Smith & Ferguson families:
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. I asked God for the words to say that will bring comfort and strength to you and your family during such a difficult time and He simply said to Trust in Him. Lean not to thine own understanding. Jesus is the greatest comfort and it is my prayer that peace, strength and love will continue to heal you during this time! Cherish the many memories of such a fine leader that you raised and shared with the world!

To the Smith & Ferguson families,
I won't even pretend that I understand what you are going through, but I am praying for strength and understanding for your families.
I am so happy, Lotria, that I was able to witness the beauty emanating from your family at our high school reunion. I look at that photo and am able to take some comfort in seeing the joy in all of your faces. You and your family raised a wonderfully strong young man who clearly touched many lives. May his memories comfort you like a warm quilt as God guides you through this journey.

Lil Sis (Bonita),
When you were growing up, Mom, Dad, Vonia, Bobby and I would protect you from the bad guys and pains of the world as much as we could. As Jordan is laid to rest today, we accept the fact that (as much as we want to) we couldn't protect you from losing him. We have also accepted the fact that God needed His special angel right now and Jordan was loved the way he lived - BOUNTIFULLY! Always know, like we do, that Jordan loved you the way God and your family love's you -and always will.
To Doc, Lotria, & Taylor - the Davis family LOVES you and TOGETHER we will get through this. You are stuck with us FOR LIFE - all the love we have for Jordan we will now pour all over you, so I apologize in advance for the overflow because we love so hard!
All of our prayers are also extended to SGT. Roberts' family and especially his two beautiful children - may you know the sweet peace that only God can bring.
Glory Be to the Father!

To Lotria and the Doctor family; the Fergusons; the Kitt Family; Smith Family, and McNeill Family:
My heart grieves with you. I read of this accident and saw the name. At that moment, I remembered Lotria and that she had a son named Jordan. But I told myself that would be too much of a coincidence.
Speaking with my grandmother Naz this morning, she told me of some family that was traveling to visit my Aunt for Mother's Day and that they would be stopping in Columbia for the funeral. Right then, I knew.
I know this is tough. May God's strength and comfort overpower you and give you peace. Continue to trust Him and in all your ways acknowledge Him. As each day passes, may you have a greater understanding and know that everything happens according to His plan.
Lotria.. I haven't seen you in a while, but please remember to take care of yourself.
In spirit, I wrap my arms around each one of you as you mourn and celebrate the life of Jordan. You have my love, prayers and deepest sympathy.

To Lotria, Doc and Family, our prayers are with you in this time of need. Our Father in Heaven will be your foundation to comfort and help you through this difficult time. I've known Jordan ever since I coached at North Springs 8-12 yr olds in basketball. My son Kadell and Jordan worked at N. Springs together as teenagers, they also went to Winthrop and graduated together in 2008. Jordan has always been a 'Shinning Star' for others to follow, Our Heavenly Father has called him for a much bigger task in Heaven. As Jordan displayed in his dailey life style, he was a classay young man. We love him and our deepiest sympathy goes out to his parents and family members.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Jordan was truly an angel from God. I have read several articles about him and I can truly say he has lived a good Christian life. God allowed us to borrow Jordan for a short while only to make a difference in many lives. No matter what happens in our lives, God "is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). May his memories keep you going and we will continue to pray for your family.

J as I will call him is the same age as my son and special newphew, and I know that I would be torn into pieces if something were to happen to either of them, or any of my children for that matter. I would just like to say that the GOD I serve makes no mistakes and that he needed an angel and chose J. I am writing this message with tears in my eyes. I am the Uncle of Jordan Smith. I am gravely distressed about the sudden death of my nephew. Jordan was the first born son of my youngest brother Juan Ferguson.
I had just returned to South Carolina to live after serving in the military and living in Washington, DC. I had just begun to have an active relationship with my nephew. I had recently spoken at his seminar on the family at Winthrop University. I was just at his graduation in December 2008. He had just email me asking me if I thought he should go into the Air Force or the Navy as an officer. Being a former Air Force officer, I of course told him to go Air Force.
This past Sunday, most of my family was at Florida A&M University celebrating the graduation of another nephew on May 3, 2009. Then on May 4, 2009, I received a call from my oldest brother informing me that Jordan had died in an accident. I was discouraged. I was desponded. I was dejected. A flower of our family’s future was dead. All that potential, all that possibility and all that prowess was gone.
Jordan was a blessed young man and he was a blessing to me and my family. I always loved talking with him. He was positive, progressive, powerful, and professional. He was a joy to be around. He was creative, intelligent and a leader. My heart is broken. I feel so empty!
In terms of the measure of the man, Jordan came from a long line of scholars. On his father’s side, he is the 15th person in our family to earn his undergraduate degree. As a descendent of the Ferguson Family of Charleston, SC, here is how Jordan’s legacy fits in our long line of scholars:

My good brother, what can I say? This is the one that utterly threw me for a loop. I had just seen you about a week before the accident, where you were your usual, jovial self; never would I have thought in a million years that it would be the last time I would see you as you walked amongst us on this side. You will be sorely missed among the Brotherhood and by all those whose lives you have touched. Sleep well, my dear brother, sleep well. Onward and upward toward the Light shall you ever be.
