Johnny Dyches Obituary

DYCHES, Johnny Johnny Wilbur Dyches, 72, of Riverbanks, CA, a retired electrical contractor, died Friday, April 4, 2008, at Oakdale Hospital in Oakdale, CA. Mr. Dyches was born September 17, 1936, in Baldock, SC. He was predeceased by his father, Wilbur L. Dyches. Surviving are his mother, Ruth D. Dyches of Mt. Pleasant; his daughter, Christine Schallmo and her husband, Aaron Schallmo, and his granddaughter, Honna Schallmo of San Andreas, CA; two brothers, Jimmy R. Dyches and his wife, Judy Dyches, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Glenn P. Dyches and his wife, Maria Dyches, of Pensacola, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny graduated from McClellanville High School in South Carolina prior to joining the U.S. Air Force and moving to California. After his tour of duty with the Air Force, he owned and operated Copper Electrical Contractors in Copperopolis, CA until he retired. Johnny was an avid fisherman and hunter and he enjoyed training and riding horses on his ranch in Copperopolis. I often heard my father (Lawrence Cumbee) mention the Dyches family with admiration in many of the stories he shared with me of his younger days . Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
