Johnnie Bryant Reed ISLE OF PALMS - Johnnie Bryant Reed, 92, of Isle of Palms, SC, entered into eternal rest November 23, 2025. Born on November 1, 1933, in Brownfield, Texas, to the late Taylor Marvin Speed and the late Amy Pauline Jones Speed, Johnnie lived a life marked by creativity, love, and dedication to her family. Throughout her life, Johnnie found joy in gardening and expressed her artistic talents with a brush, creating beautiful watercolor paintings that reflected her vibrant spirit. Johnnie served on the Plant-A-Palm committee, which planted over 800 native Palmetto palms helping restore the natural beauty of Isle of Palms after the effects of hurricane Hugo. As a homemaker, she nurtured her family and provided a warm and loving environment that will be fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Johnnie is survived by her daughter, Deborah B. Lallier (Michael) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; her twin grandsons, Cody Lallier (Patrick) of Durham, North Carolina and Cory Lallier (Jessica) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Bryant Lallier, Harrison Lallier, Bailey Lallier, Maggie Lallier, Kathryn Lallier, and Poppy Lallier. In addition to her parents, Johnnie is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Reed; and her siblings, brother, Charles Taylor Speed, and sister, Donnie Young. A funeral service will be held in her honor December 1, 2025, at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd., Mt. Pleasant, SC at 11:30 am. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the same location. Memorials may be made to MUSC Foundation for Children's Hospital 18 Bee Street MSC 450, Charleston, SC 29425.
