I did not know that Brother Johnnie had gone to be with the Lord until just recently and I am truly sorry to hear of his passing. Though he is being rewarded in Heaven....he is truly missed here on earth.

Dearest Alice,
I remember Brother Johnnie as he was on a missions trip into Russia with us. What a beautiful spirit he has. I know you will miss him and I ask the Lord to comfort your heart greatly, I haven't been in touch with you but I will contact you by e-mail when I get in touch with Betty. MY heart is with you. Someday we will have a reunion up there. with love eternal, Barbara McKee

Dear Kathy, Bobby, Mrs. Alice and Family,
We only learned of Brother Johnnie's passing today (Tuesday). We were with Brother Johnnie, Mrs. Fay and you at Edgewood. We love Brother Johnnie very much. I have often said that Brother Johnnie was the greatest pastor of prayer ever at Edgewood, and he was so reflected in our Fiftieth Anniversary historical presentation, including a picture of him on his knees. Brother Johnnie passed our house on his tractor working in his garden. He stopped when I was in the yard, which was often. He sat on the tractor as we chatted. He would say, "Well, Mary, I have to go. Let's pray." He never left without praying, and I doubt that he left others without praying. I will never forget, "Lord, it's Johnnie again." Brother Johnnie baptized my son, Tiger, and came on Dec. 3, 1994, to perform Tiger's and Christy's wedding ceremony. I will always cherish the many ways in which he exemplified his living in God's service here on earth. We love him and we love you. May God bless and keep you always.

While you grieve, all of heaven is rejoicing and, I am certain, Brother Johnnie jumped immediately into the line to see Jesus - I can imagine that sweet smile filling his face as he basks in the presence of the Savior he loved and served so faithfully. A throng of others are surely reuniting with him, thanking him for living a life that reflected Christ and thereby drew THEM to Him as well. How amazing that must be!
