John Young and Jimmy Mann were a duo of characters who taught Trial Ad. They had tried many cases and knew how to teach. They became lifelong friends. Deepest sympathy is extended to John's family.

John was the example of an American success story that reaped the rewards of hard work, perseverance, dedication and education. Shortly after I retired from the Charleston Police Department, I worked as a Private Investigator for John and his wife Sally Rentiers . Both were great to work for. John and I shared growing up in the Ohio Valley of the 50's and 60's. The ethnic blend of the valley was forever engrained in the Steal and Coal companies in those days. Irish, Italian, Polish, Hungarian and African-American communities co-existed in the work force of generally hard labor and low pay. The fiercest competition was usually displayed in local football rivalries and amateur boxing bouts. Through those interactions a mutual respect developed for family, faith and a love of our beloved valley. I believe that anyone that experienced growing up in the Valley never forgot or lost those values. John for an Ohio Valley boy my best expression of respect can be summed up by saying a life well lived God bless RIP.
