John Westbrook Obituary

WESTBROOK, John John Walter Westbrook, 44, of Charleston, died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at his home. John was born January 3, 1963 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald A. Westbrook, Sr. of Mount Pleasant. He was a graduate of Bay High School and Tom P. Haney Technical College in Panama City, Florida. John was a skilled craftsman and specialized in extensive historical renovations in downtown Charleston that earned him numerous Carolopolous awards. John was a lover of the outdoors, fishing, animals, good friends, his family and life. He will be sadly missed by all. He is survived by his parents, Donald A. and Norma Westbrook, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant; his daughter: Magdalen Elizabeth Fortiere Westbrook Eliza of Charleston; former wife Magdalen Chanler Marshall Fortiere Westbrook of Charleston; three siblings: Linda Westbrook Moreland and her fiancé Mark Brown of Mt. Pleasant; Donald A. Westbrook, Jr. and his wife Yvette Westbrook of Santa Clarita, California; Jodi Westbrook Flowers and her husband Dr. Robert Flowers of Charleston and three nephews: Donny and Blake Westbrook and Coleman Flowers; two nieces: Katy and Elena Flowers; special friend Jennifer Rausch and his buddies Jay and Oz. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Life Church of Charleston, Rev. Frank Seignious, P.O. Box 743, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29465. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 29th at 1:00 o'clock in the Chapel of McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant.
