John Chisolm Walker, Jr. JOHNS ISLAND - John Chisolm Walker, Jr., 39, of Johns Island, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. He was born on October 30, 1974 in Kingstree, SC, to the late Betty Keels Walker and the late John Chisolm Walker, Sr. Chisolm thrived in the fullness that life has to offer. His life was enriched by fatherhood, his devotion to family and the pleasure he found boating and fishing, perhaps nowhere more so than on the waters surrounding Charleston. It was his nature to meet and converse with all those he encountered, and his ability to share his warmth and exuberance so readily with others-regardless of their station in life-that resulted in countless friendships that spanned many years and many miles. Chisolm is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Brooke Gano Walker of Johns Island, SC; his son, Griffin Lee Walker of Johns Island, SC; one sister, Arlene Walker Vecellio and her husband, Nick, of Rock Hill, SC; two nephews: Nick and Nolyn Vecellio of Rock Hill, SC; and one niece, McKenzie Vecellio of Rock Hill, SC. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at 4:30pm, at The Church of the Holy Cross, 2520 Middle Street, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482. A reception will follow. Our family has known and enjoyed Chisolm's friendly attitude and smile for more than a quarter century in both Columbia and Charleston.

It was such a tragedy to hear of his accident. We are so sorry for his family. Our thoughts, prayers and best wishes are with his wife Brooke, son Griffin, sister Arlene and families.

So sorry I didn't keep in touch with Chisolm. He was truly a people person. I've never heard anybody say anything negative about him. My thoughts and prayers go out to Brooke and Griffin. But keep in mind, 'To be absent from the body is to be present in the lord" 2 Cor 5:8 God Bless the entire family!
