John Tucker Obituary

Dr. John Wotring Tucker, Jr. VERO BEACH, FL - Tucker, Jr., John Wotring, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina, a son of the late Dr. John Wotring Tucker, Sr. and Betty Rodgers Tucker, on October 31, 1948. Dr. Tucker was a graduate of Clemson University and went on to receive his doctor's degree in Marine Biology. He moved to Vero Beach many years ago and worked for the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution of Fort Pierce, Florida for many years until retiring. He was a dedicated scientist and contributed in many ways to the studies and research in Marine Biology. Surviving are his wife, Dr. Sarah Blaine Kennedy of Jacksonville, Florida, sons, Dylan Macdurmit Tucker and Duncan Kennedy Tucker; his sister, Lisa Jacqueline Tucker of Charleston, South Carolina and his nieces, Jacqueline Kendall Standafer and Jessica Rose Standafer Owens. There will be a memorial service at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, Fort Pierce, Florida at a time and date to be announced.
