John Vaughan Thornton N. CHARLESTON - John "Jack" Vaughan Thornton, 50, of North Charleston, passed away, Saturday, November 7, 2009. The relatives and friends of John "Jack" Thornton are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Thursday, November 12, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church, Isle of Palms at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Jakin, Georgia. Arrangements J. HENRY STUHR INC, MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Mr. Thornton was born October 24, 1959 in Marietta, Georgia, son of Joseph Hoyt Thornton and the late Margaret Minge Vaughan Thornton. He served in the United States Navy and was a security guard. He is survived by his father, Joseph Hoyt Thornton and his wife, Jennifer, of Headland, AL; one brother, Thomas Fort Thornton and his wife, Cindy, of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Julia and Dink Joiner of Dothan, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Lowcountry Aids Services, P.O.
