John Solon Thompson, Jr. MONCKS CORNER - Mr. John Solon Thompson, Jr. of Moncks Corner, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2021. Mr. Thompson was born on August 20, 1933 in Andrews S.C. to the late John Solon Thompson and the late Molly Lee Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a veteran, worked in the civil service, and worked at Cummins until he retired. He is survived by three daughters, Sherry (Rick) Dennis of Bonneau S.C., Denise Hurt of New York, Evelyn Harrison of North Charleston, a son, John Solon Thompson III of Moncks conner, and a sister, Miriam Thompson of North Charleston. He has 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Ruth Thompson, a son, Robert W. Thompson, three sisters, Elisabeth Matthews, Mary lee Smith, Dorothy Thompson, a brother, Frank E. Thompson Mr. Thompson's funeral arrangement will start Monday, October 11th at 1 o'clock at Simplicity (Ladson location) for viewing, followed by the graveside service at 2 o'clock at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston.
